About the service

The current app asks you to agree to these Terms of Service and acknowledge the Privacy Policy before opening your library. This acknowledgement is not consent to optional data processing and does not waive your privacy or consumer rights.

Flashcard.today is a learning service operated from the Netherlands. It lets you manage text flashcards and practice through the iPhone and iPad app, with optional connections to AI assistants through MCP. These terms describe the service; our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.

The free plan

The free plan does not include a contractual uptime guarantee, guaranteed support response time or service credits. Maintenance, technical failures and third-party outages can interrupt access. We do not promise that every feature will always remain available or free.

We may change features or usage limits, or discontinue the free service. Where reasonably practicable, we will give advance notice of material reductions or discontinuation and an opportunity to export your library. We will follow any notice requirements imposed by applicable law. Free-plan limits do not reduce your privacy rights or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Your account and learning content

Keep access to your Apple Account or sign-in email secure and only upload content you have permission to use. Do not use the service to break the law, access another person’s account, bypass security or deliberately disrupt the service.

You retain your rights in the content you upload. You permit us to store, process and transmit it as needed to provide the features you request, including sharing it with an assistant you connect within its approved permissions. This does not transfer ownership of your content to us.

Keep an independent export of learning content that is important to you. Offline practice copies and infrastructure backups are not a personal backup service. This recommendation does not remove our responsibility to handle your information in accordance with applicable law.

AI-assisted content and changes

AI assistants can produce inaccurate content or misunderstand instructions. Review generated flashcards, answers and proposed changes before relying on or approving them. Depending on the permissions you grant, a connected assistant can modify or delete flashcards and record or undo practice results. Practice results require confirmation.

Disconnecting prevents future access through that connection. It does not reverse earlier changes or remove information already received by the AI provider. The provider’s own terms and privacy settings also apply to your use of its service. We remain responsible for our own service and legal obligations.

Learning outcomes and responsibility

Flashcard.today is a study aid. We do not guarantee the accuracy of user-created or AI-generated learning material, exam results, retention or any particular learning outcome. Check information against reliable sources, especially before making medical, legal, financial or other consequential decisions.

We take reasonable care in operating the service, but cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. These terms do not exclude or limit liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence or other mandatory consumer and data protection rights. The absence of a subscription fee does not by itself remove our legal responsibilities.

Future premium features and paid plans

Before any purchase, we will explain the price, included features, applicable limits, billing period, renewal, cancellation and applicable refund or withdrawal rights. Using the free plan does not automatically enrol you in a paid subscription. You must separately choose and authorise a purchase before being charged.

Future paid plans may have additional terms presented before purchase. We will not treat this page as agreement to an undisclosed price or future subscription.

Suspension and ending your use

You can stop using the service, disconnect assistants or delete your account through the app. We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to address abuse, security risks or legal requirements. Where appropriate and legally permitted, we will explain the restriction and how to contact us. Urgent security action may happen before notice.

Account deletion and the handling of remaining operational records or backups are explained in the Privacy Policy. Any future paid subscription will have its own clearly disclosed cancellation process; do not assume that deleting the app cancels a subscription.

Changes and your legal rights

We will revise the date when these terms change and explain material changes through the service where appropriate. Where notice or agreement is required by law, we will obtain it before applying the change. Changes do not retrospectively remove accrued rights. Nothing here restricts mandatory consumer protections or your right to bring a complaint before a competent authority or court.
